Supporting an incubator of micro entrepreneurship in Bolivia
The not-for-profit microfinance institution (MFI) Incubadora de Microempresas Productivas (IMPRO) offers a diversified range of loan products to micro and small entrepreneurs in urban, semi-urban and rural areas in the department of La Paz. In 2014, IMPRO had a gender-balanced client portfolio of around 2,500 clients, making it a relatively small MFI by Bolivian microfinance market standards.
IMPRO offers loans for business promotion, housing, health and education, as part of the MFI's ongoing efforts to support families living on low incomes. It recently launched various loan products geared towards agriculture.
IMPRO has a strong social mission and vision and focuses on supporting self-sufficiency among families who are in a disadvantaged economic position.
In 2013, IMPRO endorsed the SMART Campaign's client protection principles, underlining its commitment to social impact and performance.
IMPRO has been an Oikocredit partner since 2010.Download this project as a PDF
